Fishing in Key West and the Lower Keys

The Atlantic Ocean is Key West's playground for deep sea fishing.
Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi-Mahi, Tuna, Wahoo, Cobia, and King Mackerel are
a few of the exciting catches waiting for you to snag in the crystal clear
waters offshore.  Every month of the year there are migrating fish
making deep sea fishing a year round sport.

Key West has the much deserved reputation of having the finest flats
fishing found anywhere in the world.  Tarpon, permit, bonefish, shark,
and barracuda can be caught in the back country of Snipe Keys.   Fly
fishing in the far western atoll known as the Marquesas Keys will
challenge your skill in light tackle sight fishing.  You'll catch Jack
cravalle, bar jack, ladyfish, snook and redfish in the clear, pristine water
in and around the flats of the Lower Keys and Key West.

Upper Keys Fishing - Key Largo, Islamorada

The Upper Keys is the area where you'll find the most charter fishing
boats, marinas and tackle shops.  Islamorada is called 'The Fishing
Capital of the World' and is where many celebrities and politicians come
to vacation and partake in the world's best sportsfishing.  President
George Bush, Sr., President Herbert Hoover, and British Prime Minister
Winston Churchill are just a few of the famous that have visited
Islamorada.

Middle Keys Fishing - Marathon

Off Marathon in the heart of  the Florida Keys, there is an elevation in the
ocean floor from 1,000 feet to a peak of 480 feet below sea level.  This is
called the "Marathon Key West Hump" and is a very popular feeding
ground for gamefish like blue and white marlin, mako shark, amberjack
and blackfin tuna.  Private fishing charters frequent this spot for some of
the best angler fishing in the world.  Another thing that makes the
Marathon area so unique for fishing is that the Gulfside in the Middle
Keys is deeper and more open than the surrounding Keys.  This helps
on those days when it's too rough to fish on the oceanside.  Six world
record catches have been made by anglers fishing with Marathon guides
since 1991.

We’ve organized the charter fishing boat listings by either
offshore fishing (deep sea and light-tackle) or flats fishing
and then by the area of the Florida Keys – Key Largo &
Islamorada (the Upper Florida Keys area), Marathon (the
Middle Florida Keys area) and then Big Pine Key and Key
West (the Lower Florida Keys and Key West areas).  Then
sorted them in alphabetical order.  All basic listings are
complimentary to Florida Keys businesses but there are a
few paid 'sponsored' advertisements that appear at the top of
the pages as well as 'image ads' that appear on each page of
each category.  We also have paid 'full size' ads mixed in with
the basic listings.  So, we encourage you to look through all
of the pages to view all Florida Keys Fishing Guides and
Charters.
